Customer Requirements:
KAPP Engineering was approached by SA Police to conduct a trial to convert their application specific analogue video feed to IP and then over the Telstra NextG® HSDPA Network to their Communications Centre.

Solution:
The trial involved the set up of a standard analogue camera via a Moxa MPEG4 Compatible Analogue to IP Video Server connected to a CDM-882 wireless router on the Telstra NextG® Network. KAPP Engineering provided step-by-step settings to SA Police for the configuration of the Moxa Video Server as well as the CDM-882. The CDM-882 was configured to dial into a dedicated Windows Machine at the SA Police Communications Centre.

The trial hardware shown was set up at the KAPP Engineering office in Western Australia while SA Police viewed the IP Video Feed from their office in South Australia.

Typical frame rates achieved were between 25 - 30 fps at CIF resolution and 10 - 15 fps at 4CIF resolution. SA police were pleased with the trial and have since purchased another set of equipment for their test projects and are now in the process of field testing the solution.
