Customer Requirements:
KAPP Engineering was approached for support by DTI in helping integrate multiple CDM-882 3G/NextG® Routers back to their office via a secure PPTP Virtual Private Network.
 
Solution:
KAPP Engineering supplied DTI Engineers with the necessary settings and equipment to set up individual VPN tunnels to CDM-882's in the field. The CDM-882 routers provided DTI central with wireless access over the 3G/NextG® network to Digital Video Recorders operating on board railway trains.

The VPN-580 PPTP Firewall Server was selected for the job and is capable of supporting up to 80 simultaneous PPTP tunnels over 3G/NextG® with CDM-882's in the field.

KAPP Engineering has since supplied 60 x CDM-882's to DTI as the initial trials were successful and this technology will now be used to provide on-demand always on secure access to video feeds.
